The Challenge
The key challenge was building a robust internal dataset capable of feeding specialized algorithms with reliable, well-organized data, an essential step for developing truly effective AI solutions in the insurance industry.
It was also crucial to develop advanced tools and models tailored to the market’s complexities, such as recognizing different types of coverage, specific clauses, and regulatory standards.

The Jorney
With the challenges mapped out, we began developing Seguraí, a smart virtual assistant created to transform how policyholders interact with their insurance documents.
The vision was clear: enable anyone to easily understand what is and isn’t covered by their policy, all through a natural conversation with AI.
To bring this to life, we organized a large volume of data using Named Entity Recognition (NER) models, applied Open Insurance-based rules, and created a recommendation flow trained with real-world examples.
A private, securely hosted LLM was deployed to ensure greater governance, significantly reduce token-related costs, and optimize performance for handling complex documents.
This was implemented using AWS infrastructure, which provides a dedicated LLM instance and ensures that data remains within the client’s internal network without traveling over the public internet.
Beyond the technology, the delivery involved deep collaboration across development, design, UX, and commercial teams. Working in rapid cycles, we validated assumptions directly with clients and end-users.
It was an intense journey that involved mapping complex clauses and designing accessible conversation flows. We went through extensive testing, fine-tuning, and valuable learning.
We conducted trials with real insurance policies to observe system behavior in authentic scenarios. While not a formal field study, our insights were based on internal knowledge and active listening to insurance clients.
The result is a scalable product shaped by technical expertise and a team dedicated to making the insurance sector, and others, more human-centric, reliable, and straightforward.
